Joyce E. Kopecky, age 84, of Geneva, formerly of Chicago, passed away Thursday, July 15, 2021 at her home with her loving family by her side.
She was born May 31st, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Jack and Ruth (Burke) Franzen.
Joyce was a writer, photographer, and devoted nurse and loyal friend to many.
She is survived by her son Rick (Jo Marie) of Tinley Park, Mary Eileen (Matt) O’Sullivan of St. Charles, Jim (Jill) Kopecky of River Forest, and Kathleen (John) Davine of Geneva; grandchildren Caroline (Bryce), Charlotte, Jack, Clara, Emma, Will, Sarah Jane, and Leah; sisters Ruth Therese Nicholas and Maureen Nolan; and many other dear relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Joan Healey and Jean LaMountain, and her husband Richard Kopecky who passed away in 2020.
Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 11:00 am at Christ the King Catholic Church 9235 S Hamilton Street, Chicago, Illinois with Father Larry Sullivan, Celebrant.
Burial will follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Evergreen Park, Illinois.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 23 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva and at the Church from 10:00 am until the time of her Funeral Mass at 11:00 am.
