John C. Scott, Jr.

John C. Scott, Jr, age 69, of St. Charles, passed away Saturday, July 31, 2021, at

Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield with his loving family by his side.

He was born June 6, 1952, in Cottonwood, Idaho, the son of John and Bernice

(Bryant) Scott.

John graduated from St. Charles High School in 1971. He then enlisted in the

United States Army, the 82nd Airborne, and served with honor from 1972-1974 at

Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He then met and married the love of his life, Joyce.

John worked for Local 150 Operating Engineers for over 30 years and was the

loving father to five children. John retired in the 90s and was able to begin his life

as a Papa to his wonderful grandchildren.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Joyce (Morris); children Maranda

(John) Barnard of Batavia, Autumn of St. Charles, John C. Scott III and Alexis

Gajewski of Roselle, Krystle (Colin) Austin of DeKalb, and Michael of St. Charles;

grandchildren Zackary Barnard, Peyton Austin, Layla Daeschlein, and Cole

Austin; siblings Teresa Wagner of Missouri and George Scott of Florida; and

other dear relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Services for John will be held Thursday, August 5, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at

Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva.

Burial will follow at Little Woods Cemetery in St. Charles.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 4, 2021, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at

Malone Funeral Home.
