John A. Murphy III, age 56, of Geneva passed away Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at his home in Geneva.
He was born December 14, 1964 in Brooklyn, New York, the son of Mary (Greene) and John A. Murphy II.
John spent over 35 years in the supply chain and logistics industry, most recently as a Managing Principal at Infosys Consulting. He had a passion for cooking “fancy food”, wine, sports, military aircraft, action movies, firetrucks, audio equipment and baby powder. You will always see John in khaki shorts and a baseball cap. However, his greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his loving wife Donna; children Tyler, Sean, and Kelsey Chambers; grandchildren Carter and Willow Chambers; mother Mary of New Jersey; siblings Mary Beth (Scott) Williamson of Leesberg, Virginia, Michael (Siobhan) Murphy of London, Thomas Murphy of New York City; and many other nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father John A. Murphy II.
A visitation for John will be held Sunday, July 25, 2021 at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38) Geneva, Illinois from 1:00 pm until the time of his Funeral Service at 4:00 pm with Deacon Greg D'Anna officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to the Home for Endangered & Lost Pets, Northern Illinois Food Bank, or National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.
