Joan D. Obermayer, age 88, of St. Charles, passed away Saturday, January 8, 2022 at River Crossing of St. Charles with her loving family by her side.

She was April 27, 1933, in Chicago, the daughter of Philip and Herta (Tatz) Hanus.

Joan loved to cook and entertain. She enjoyed crafts, ceramics, crewel work, and decorating her home for the holidays.

She is survived by her son Robin (Roxanne) of Batavia; daughter-in-law Carrie of McHenry; grandchildren Dirk, Kiersten, and Nicholas; great grandchildren Cage, Averly, and Halsten; brother Eric (Pauline) Gruenler of California; and many other dear relatives and friends.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents, son Dana, sister Eleanor, and her devoted husband George who passed away in 1982.

Services will be held privately.
