Our beautiful Jeff passed away suddenly on Friday afternoon, September 18, 2020.
Jeff was born on December 17, 1997 in LaGrange, IL, the son of Robert and Desiree Kass.
Carefree, joyful and kind. Jeff was a free spirit who loved his friends, family and had a passion for people. He was always smiling, laughing and not sweating the little things. Jeff was about people. He would listen, build you up and tell you everyting was going to be OK. He wanted people to feel safe and loved.
Jeff knew his path in life when he was in 3rd grade. His future would include music, specifically his passion - playing the electric guitar. After graduating from Geneva high school, Jeff moved to Austin, TX to pursue his passion full time. Jeff was a professional session guitarist and absolutely relished playing live with dozens of bands at classic venues. Jeff returned to Chicago to continue his passion and met his lovely Katy who he adored. Despite his travels, Jeff truly was a homebody. He loved his brother Nick and sister Danielle and treasured his time with the both of them. All three of them would “get cozy”as they would say, and watch Christmas movies or shows such as “The Office”. His favorite band was Van Halen and he often paid it forward in unsuspecting ways. Jeff was an organ donor and will continue to live on through his gifts and in our hearts.
Jeff is survived by his parents Robert and Desiree of Geneva and his two siblings Nicholas and Danielle both of Geneva; maternal grandfather Douglas Shaw of Northlake and paternal grandmother Barbara Kass of Burr Ridge. Also survived are many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Shirley Shaw and paternal grandfather Matthew Kass.
