Jeane Schoen, age 68, of Geneva, passed away Thursday, December 25, 2025, at Greenfields of Geneva, with her loving family by her side.
She was born February 12, 1957, in Oak Park, Illinois, the daughter of Frank and Catherine (Hayes) Obermaier.
Jeane received her B.S. in Nutrition & Dietetics from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She did graduate work and completed her Dietetic Internship at the University of Iowa.
Jeane was a devoted mother and wife. She lovingly cared for her daughters and husband of 45 years. Jeane worked as a dietician and diabetes educator throughout her life, working at Delnor Community Hospital for 28 years. Jeane was also deeply faithful and active at St. Peter Catholic Church. She enjoyed mystery novels, gardening, and visits with her sisters. Jeane unfortunately passed of Parkinson's, but her family is grateful both for their lifetime with her and last days to say goodbye.
Jeane is survived by her husband Erich; daughters Jessica Wu and Heidi (Sean) Schoen; grandchildren Erich, Naomi, Patrick, Mark, Leah, and Hailey; siblings George (Susan) Obermaier, Mary (Craig) Skeppstrom, Geri Von Brauchitsch, and Patricia Conrad; 14 nieces and nephews, and many other dear relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 2, 2026 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street, Geneva with a liturgical wake service at 7:45pm.
A second visitation will be held Saturday, January 3, 2026 from 10:00 am until the time of her Celebration of Funeral Mass at 11:00 am at St. Peter Catholic Church, 1891 Kaneville Road, Geneva. http://https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LSHIWg6nZFo
Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Geneva.
