James D. “Jimmy” Rueth, age 58, of Geneva, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at his home.
He was born February 7, 1965, in Toledo, Ohio, the son of Robert and Marie (Rushforth) Rueth.
Jimmy was a caring father, great friend, and living encyclopedia of baseball. He is survived by three sons Marko, John, and David. His sons were his life’s passion. He lived and breathed their sports endeavors and never tired of retelling their success stories. He was also a dedicated coach to many of Geneva’s baseball youth.
Jimmy loved his yellow labs, cooking for others, The Chicago Cubs, Fighting Irish, and sailing in the Caribbean with his family.
He is also survived by siblings Kathleen (Vince) Klees, Mary (Richard) Sullivan, Richard (Barbara), and Robert (Karen); 11 nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents and siblings John, Patricia, and Roberta Rueth.
Jimmy graduated from Wheaton Warrenville High School and the University of Notre Dame. He made a successful career in financial services ultimately co-founding his own advisory firm, Sound Investments.
Visitation will be held Monday, April 3, 2023 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva, IL.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 4 at 11:00 am at Malone Funeral Home with Father Jonathan Bakkelund officiating. Personal tributes/memorials at the service are welcome.
Burial will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in Wheaton.
