Obituary
Harry O. Parker, age 89, of Aurora, passed away Wednesday February 8, 2023 at The Grove of Far Valley.
He was born August 27, 1933, in Chicago.
Harry was an avid reader of history and travel, visiting Ireland several times. Harry also liked to travel to the Tropical Islands and the Far East. His favorite sport was soccer. He was also trained in martial arts and spoke fluent Spanish. He served as a policeman in Texas. He also was a grammar school teacher K-8 grade.
He is survived by his friends, Michael and Lily Reyes Lally of North Aurora and numerous members of the VFI Batavia Lodge. Harry was a Corporal with the US Marine Corps and served in Vietnam as a Field Radio Operator. Harry also served with the US Army Reserve and was a Staff Sergeant.
He was proceeded in death by his parents Gertrude and Harry Parker.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 22, 2023 from 6:00 pm until the time of his memorial service at 8:30 pm at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva.
Graveside service will be held Thursday, February 23, 2023 at 10:00 am at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
