Geraldine "Geri" Morrison

Geraldine “Geri” Morrison, age 87, of Batavia, passed away Sunday, August 25, 2024 at Tower Hill Healthcare Center in South Elgin with her loving family by her side.

She was born July 20, 1937, in Hammond, Indiana, the daughter of Albert and Veronica Rozcicha.

Geri loved to read. She could read a book in two days even if she was busy. She loved mysteries. She loved Sherlock Holmes. She would watch the old movies on TV. She really loved Casablanca. She could watch it over and over!

Her lasagna and fried pork chops were the best! Her stuffed cabbage or golumpki was also great!

She loved people. She would greet customers at the Elms with a hun what would you like? Her customers were her friends. She knew their families by name.

She was assistant son mother for her son’s cub scout pack and very busy at The Elms and her home. She really loved her family! Her late husband Ray and son Curt were spoiled with her love. The world is not a happy place with her gone! She will be missed by those who knew and loved her!

She is survived by her son Curt of Batavia; sisters Lorraine and Shirley both of Indiana; care giver Sue Salach; and many other dear relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and devoted husband of 65 years Raymond who passed away in 2020.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 5, 2024, from 9:00 – 10:30 am at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva proceeding to St. Peter Catholic Church, 1891 Kaneville Road, Geneva for Celebration of Funeral Mass at 11:00 am with Father Sean Grismer celebrant.  Please click link to livestream the mass https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qFoEusHgrSA
