Georgia Lecos, age 89, of Batavia, passed away Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at her daughter’s home with her loving family by her side.
She was born September 21, 1931, in Chicago, the daughter of Harry and Athanasia Argires.
Georgia was a loving wife, mother and Yiayia, who most enjoyed spending her time with family. She attended DePaul University’s business program, and was a secretary at many companies in her working years. She loved gardening, sewing, and cooking, and passed these passions on down to her family.
She is survived by children Marcia (Vance) Eubanks of Wheaton, Cindy (Rick) Rodriguez of Geneva, and Bill (Deb) Lecos of Crystal Lake; grandchildren Justin (Erika) Rodriguez, Kristin Rodriguez, and Kosta and Dakota Lecos; sister Anna Lampros of Glen Ellyn; and many other dear relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Connie Harrigan, her brother Peter Argires, and her loving husband Gust, to whom she was married for 36 years until his death in 1993.
Funeral Serivce will be held Thursday, June 17, 2021 at 10:00 am at Saints Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 11025 S. Roberts Road, Palos Hills with Father Tom DeMedeiros, Celebrant.
Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Evergreen Park.
Visitation for Georgia will be held Wednesday, June 16, 2021 from 4:00 - 8:00 pm at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the: CRC Benevolent Fund, 700 W. Fabyan Parkway, Batavia, IL 60510, as Georgia was so happy in her new life at the Holmstad Covenant Retirement Community.
