Georgene T. "Jean" Vose

Georgene T. “Jean” Vose, age 90, of Batavia, formerly longtime resident of Geneva, passed away Thursday September 26, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born August 12, 1934, in Aurora, the daughter of George and Magdeline Rosina (Bauer) Brummel.

Jean was a blessing to everyone that knew her. She touched many lives with her loving, kind and gentle ways. Her beauty and gracefulness was admired by all. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Grandma Jean always made them feel very special and loved. She spent many years as a seamstress and was employed at the transportation department in Geneva and Springfield where she met her beloved husband Harold. Her faith was very important giving of her time and talents to many people and organizations along her path and life. The beauty of her flower gardens was a reflection of her beautiful life. Everyone was so proud and happy for her when she was chosen to be in Home and Garden magazine. Jean loved interior design, decorating her home with her sewing and creative ideas. Her beautiful home was in the Geneva house walk. She put so much time and love into everything she made for her family and friends. She has left us all with countless fond memories we will cherish forever.

Jean is survived by her loving husband of 40 years Harold; children Mark (Terri) Walters of Arizona, Steve (Nancy) Walters of Indiana, and Dan Walters of Elburn. Grandchildren Jessica (Kevin) Forbes, Wesley Walters, Leslie Mowers and Kara (Danny) Allen and great grandchildren Kaylee and Kaden, Wyatt, Blake and Brooke. Also survived by Harold’s children Cindy (Bert) Waibel of Green View, Angie Greenwalt of Carlinville, Glenda (Dave) Cassens of Rochester, Jeff (Renee) Vose of Miss., Rodney (Joann) Vose of Rochester; Harold’s grandchildren Jessica and Zach Waibel, Aimee, Sheena, Sam and Hank Greenwalt, Luke and Bailey Koebler, Connor, Ethan, Abby and Aleah, Alyson Vose and also survived by many great grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters Rosemary Dieter and Beverly Albrecht.

Visitation will be held Friday October 4, 2024 from 10:00 until the time of her Funeral Mass at 11:00 am  at St. Peter Catholic Church 1891 Kaneville Rd Geneva with Father Ryan Browning Celebrant.  Click on link to live stream the mass.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hSqVu-_SBXs

Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Geneva.
