Geneva B. Browne

Geneva B. Browne 95, formerly of Geneva, passed away on November 3, 2024 in Plano, TX. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Howard (Buster) Browne; her son Douglas Browne; her grandson David Gaytan; her son-in-law George “Ernie” Telfer; her parents Ethel and Herbert Clayton; and her six sisters and one brother.

She leaves behind five children Linda (James) Huels of Carlyle, IL, Barbara (Thomas) Petersen of Chicago, IL, Sandra Telfer of North Aurora, IL, D. Michael (Elizabeth) Browne of Plano, TX, and Richard (Tisa) Browne of Fuquay, NC; daughter-in-law Janet Browne of Thousand Oaks, CA; 23 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She worked at Geneva Community Hospital for 35 years, Mooseheart Medical Center, and was a visiting home care nurse for many years.  She served as President of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary, and Senior Regent of the Women of the Moose. 

She enjoyed making crafts, and spending time with family.  She dearly loved her life.  She will be greatly missed by all the hearts that she has touched.

Visitation will be held Saturday, November 16, 2024 from 9:00 am until the time of her funeral service at 11:00 am at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva with Father Dan Peters officiant.

Burial will follow at West Side Cemetery in Geneva.
