Gail J. Purcell

Gail Jean Purcell, age 58, of Batavia, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Delnor Hospital in Geneva with her loving family by her side. Gail was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Michael who passed away in 2014.

She is survived by her children Michael Purcell II of Wheeling, Ryan O’Brien of Tampa, Florida, Christopher Purcell of Chicago, and Caitlin Purcell of Batavia; fiancé Robert “Rob” Swe of Batavia; sisters Denise Greathouse of DeKalb, Bernice Phelps of Newnan, Georgia, and Christina Healy of Chicago; and many other dear relatives and friends.

She was born December 17, 1963, in Chicago, the daughter of Francis and Joan (Davis) Wieczorek.

Gail was a supportive mother, loving wife to her late husband Michael, and dedicated partner to her fiancé Rob. Gail enjoyed being the social coordinator among her friends and family. With music in her heart and a smile on her face, she was always the life of the party. Heaven better have a well-functioning ice machine waiting for her arrival, or management will never hear the end of it. Her unwavering spirit and love will be dearly missed.

A visitation for Gail will be held Friday, March 11, 2022 from 4:00 pm until the time of her memorial service at 7:30 pm at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva.

Funeral prayers will be held Saturday, March 12 at 10:00 am at Malone Funeral Home, proceeding to St. Michael Cemetery in Wheaton for interment.
