Gaetano “Guy” Ricci, age 93, of Chicago, passed away Saturday, August 22, 2020 at his daughter’s home in Geneva surrounded by his family.
He was born January 1, 1927, in Chicago, the son of Paul and Corinne (DiPietro) Ricci.
Guy served his country in the United States Army during WWII. He worked as a pressman for Barrett Bindery in Chicago for over 50 years. He enjoyed fishing and working with his hands. He created beautiful rosaries and wood works for his family and friends. He was a faithful man who dedicated time volunteering and participating in church gatherings. His favorite pastime was spending time with his family and he will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his daughter Cindy (Larry) Modjeski; son-in-law Michael Giammanco; grandchildren Jeff Modjeski, Stephanie (Phil) Bellino, Tim Modjeski, Chris (Colleen)Modjeski, Dan Modjeski, Andrew Modjeski, Michael (Emily) Giammanco, Jennifer (Jennifer) Hergenroeder, and Natalie (Steve) Braciszewicz; great grandchildren Kaden, Tegan, Emelia, Catherine, Abraham, Luca, Gwennan, Oliver, Emma, and Hailey; and many other dear relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Corinne Giammanco, siblings Louise, Rose, Anne, and Yolanda, and his devoted wife Angela who passed away in 2008.
Funeral Mass for Guy with be held Thursday, August 27, 2020 at 10:00 am at Notre Dame de Chicago, 1334 W. Flournoy Street, Chicago with Father Kevin Hays, Celebrant.
Burial will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside
A visitation will be held Wednesday, August 26 from 3:00 – 9:00 pm at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Congregation of St. Joseph, St. Joseph Center, 3430 Rocky River Drive, Cleveland, OH 44111-2954 would be appreciated.
