I left Okmulgee in 7th grade for Lubbock, TX then Iowa for where I still reside. I remember Mike for this very reason. There is a saying that "One should begin as they intend to go". From all accounts that is exactly what Mike did. I remember he had a gentle kindness about him making me and those who came to know him feel a trust relationship. While I did not see him in all the intervening years, I felt an immediate sense of loss seeing this just now in 2019. Blessings to his family as their's what a great loss of a kind and rare spirit. My thoughts are with you and your children during this difficult time.  As you may recall, Mike and I went back a long time--starting when we were both undergraduate students.  Mike was a wonderful colleague and important contributor to both accounting education and practice.  His memory will last.

Dr. Crooch had a significant effect on our accounting profession for forty years. His efforts and influence were many in academia, public accounting and professional standard setting at the FASB. Dr. Crooch was one of my toughest profs at Oklahoma State University. Later in my accounting career we became friends through OState alumni activities. I appreciated the time he contributed as a frequent FASB speaker at the OState School of Accounting annual conference. I respected his intelligence, and his willingness to engage in constructive debate with a sense of humor. Thank you Mike--your contributions and friendship will be missed.

We will all miss a wonderful personality--always an experience to visit with Mike during his time with Arthur Andersen!!

Mike was my teacher, colleague, partner and friend.  Highly disciplined, a great and unusual sense of humor and always supportive, I will miss him.  One day we'll share good Cuban cigars one more time!

I was very sorry so see today that Mike passed away. I was a partner of his at Arthur Andersen. I worked on many complex clients and had almost a weekly dialog with Mike about difficult accounting issues. He was a great guy, very practical and very helpful to me. I am very sorry for your loss.
