Eleanor Tauscher Obituary

Eleanor Marie Tauscher, age 94, of Downers Grove,Il. passed away Monday, November 23, 2020 at River Glen of St. Charles.

She was born November 8, 1926 in LaSalle, Il. the daughter of John and Marie (Geneso) Kurkowski.

Eleanor was a member of St. Mary of Gostyn Catholic Church for over 60 years. She loved working in her yard, going to Mass and having a brandy manhattan! She enjoyed volunteering at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove over 35 years and brought cheer to many people with her smile and friendly nature. She had an eye for fashion and even modeled at the local clothing store in her youth. She did the bookkeeping in Bob’s business. She was a loving mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her children Diane Ward/Mark of Dundee, IL Barb Tauscher/Jim of Chicago, Debbie Goff/Doug of Westerville, Oh and Jack Tauscher/Georgia of Geneva, Il. She so looked forward being with her grandchildren —Debbie’s Natalie and Nick; and Jack’s Rob, Jake, and Liza; and great-grandchildren Liza’s Tessa Eleanor and Isla Marie named after their grandmother. .

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Bob who passed away in 1978 at the age of 51 of a brain tumor and her only brother Lloyd Kurkowski who passed recently.

Funeral service and burial will be held privately at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
