Donald “Don” J. Hamilton, 93, of Geneva, passed away Saturday, February 14, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born June 27, 1932 in Chicago, the son of William Hamilton and Carol (Kuhlmann) Prokop.
Don was a resident for over 65 years. He served in the U.S. Army in the mid 1950’s. He volunteered as a Cub Scout leader, youth baseball coach, and as an usher at St. Peter Catholic Church. Don took an active and supportive role for all of his children and grandchildren.
Donald is survived by his sons Donald Jr. of Geneva, William (Leigh) of New Orleans, and Michael (Olga) of Yorkville; grandchildren Michael Hamilton, Ashley Rose (Esteban) Alarcon, Michelle (Tim) Vits, and Jennifer (Nick) Morgan; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brothers James (Jeannette) Hamilton and Michael Prokop of River Grove; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers William and Robert Hamilton, and beloved wife Jospehine.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 18, 2026, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva with a liturgical wake service at 7:45 pm.
Funeral prayers will be held Thursday, February 19 at 9:30am at Malone Funeral Home, proceeding to St. Peter Catholic Church, 1891 Kaneville Road, Geneva, for a Celebration of Funeral Mass at 10:30 am with Father Ryan Nooraee as Celebrant. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aCKjIHOMzmg
Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Geneva.
