Dion L. Powell

In loving memory of Dion Lee Powell, a devoted family man with a heart of gold, who passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at the age of 55.  His passing was unexpected, but it was peaceful in his home.

He was born October 14, 1968 in Decatur, Illinois to C. Ray and Sharon Powell. He was the youngest of three brothers, Scott (who passed in 2022) and Wesley.

Dion was a kind spirited individual who loved to help others.  He was full of light and laughter, and he knew how to lead in hard situations.  He enjoyed being outside, spending time with his children, and laughing with his wife.

He is remembered by his loving wife and high school sweetheart, Christy (Kelly) Powell, and his daughters, Kenna and Taylor, along with other friends and relatives.

Visitation will be held Sunday, November 5, 2023 at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva, from 2:00 pm until the time of his memorial service at 5:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to either The ALS Association, PO Box 37022, Boone, Iowa 50037-0022 or CurePSP, 325 Hudson Street, 4th Floor, New York, NY 10013 to honor the nature of his loving and generous spirit for causes close to his heart.
