Debra A. Pinkston, age 65 of DeKalb, passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born July 8, 1960, in Elgin, the daughter of Donald Schewe and Dianne Pfrunder.
Debra loved being outside in nature and animals of all kinds. She loved having the farm with the horses and dogs and going on trail rides with family and friends. Her and John also spent weekends riding the Harley and traveling around the state. After John passed she traded the country life for a house in town where she enjoyed working in the yard, planting flowers and spending time with her dogs. She retired in 2025 from 3M where she was a transportation coordinator for 31 years.
Debra leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, kindness and integrity. She taught those around her the value of hard work, honesty and treating others with compassion. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family, extended family and many dear friends.
She is survived by her children Jerry Parr III of Florida, Amanda (Jason) Bault of Malta, and stepson Brandon (Kendall) Johnsen of Texas; grandsons Orion and Viktor and granddaughter Maggie; and many other dear relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband John.
A visitation for Debra will be held Saturday, October 10, 2026 from 1:00 pm until the time of her memorial service at 3:00 pm at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Tails Humane Society, 2250 Barber Greene Road, DeKalb, Illinois 60115 would be appreciated.
