David W. Lando

David W. Lando, M.D. was born in Springfield, IL on May 2nd, 1949. He had great stories about his childhood and the good times & mischief that he and the “Merrymen” (Bill McKenzie, Tom Hiler, Bill Moore, Dave Johnson, Lee Sharp and Ted Watts) got into as kids. David graduated from Bradley University and attended The University of Illinois Medical School. He grew up 5 blocks from the love of his life, meeting her in high school and getting married in medical school. David was a Radiologist at Copley Hospital in Aurora, IL for his entire career. He loved his profession but even more so, loved his coworkers who were his second family.

After retirement, David loved walking, cooking, talking about the Bears with his “Brothers” (Adam, Bijo, Dan and many more) and most of all, spending time with his family, who meant everything to him. He is survived by his wife, Karen, of 49 years; his children, David, Sarah, Todd (Anh), Katie; his grandchildren Johnny, Connor and Killian; nieces, Laura & Lydia and nephew, Dane, and his beloved dog, Molly. David is preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Ethel; his brother, Leon; his sister, Geri and his pets Bootsie, Bagels, Bertha and Riley.

David loved life and often talked about how lucky he was for having such a great one. David passed away unexpectedly at age 73 on November 8th, 2022. In lieu of flowers, please pay it forward by doing something kind for someone. David was an incredible husband, father, grandfather and friend whom will be dearly missed.
