David C. Luedtke, age 81, of St. Charles, passed away Saturday April 18, 2026 at Delnor Hospital in Geneva.
David was born May 15, 1944, in Warrenville, IL, the son of Victor and Edna (Grimmel) Luedtke.
David was a long-time member of Sheet Metal Local 265. He worked as a forerunner at Fermi Lab as well as at Abbot. He also owned Dave’s Village Auto Body.
David is survived by his loving wife of sixty years Patricia (Craterfield); son David Jr. (Sarah) of St Charles, grandchildren Jordan (Aaron) Christley and Josh; son William (Kristen) of Wisconsin and children Amanda (Zack) Burton, their children Grace, Aiden, and Addy Burton, and Jake (Elina) Hensley.
David considered his sons and his grandchildren as his greatest accomplishments. He also enjoyed coaching youth baseball and softball in Warrenville and St. Charles. He always found time to volunteer at high schools, Mooseheart School, and DuPage Special Recreation Association. David was also a beloved crossing guard at Heartland Elementary for twenty years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.
Visitation will be held Saturday April 25, 2026 from 11:00 am until the time of his Memorial Service at 1:00 pm at the Malone Funeral Home 324 E. State St. (Rt. 38), Geneva with Pastor Trudy Stoffel officiating.
