David “58” Meyer, age 62, of Maple Park, passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at his residence.
He was born October 27, 1958, in Elmhurst, Illinois, the son of Richard and Caroline (Lesky) Meyer.
David along with his brothers co-owned the family business, Meyer Paving of Maple Park. He loved collecting things especially cars and Elvis memorabilia. However, his greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his loving wife Catherine McConnaughay Meyer; children Donald of Maple Park, Alex (Emily Haring) of Elburn, Stacey (Kevin) Watry of Elburn, and James (Taylor Patz) of Spring Grove; grandchildren Logan, Jake, Donald Jr, and Joe Meyer; siblings Richard (Carol) Meyer of St. Charles, Tom Meyer of Maple Park, and Harry (Alana)Meyer of Kaneville; nephews Ben, Tommy, and Rick Meyer; nieces Jodi Rogers, Megan Pittard, Jill Caldwell, and Amy Fusco; and many other dear relatives and friends.
David was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Caroline; nephew Adam Meyer and sister-in-law Debbie Meyer.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, December 1, 2020 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Rt. 38) Geneva. Due to the current health care restrictions, standards of occupancy will be upheld. To attend please be prepared to wear a mask and/or wait if occupancy standards need to be met before entering. We kindly ask that you immediately exit the funeral home after briefly paying your respects to the family so that others may have the same opportunity.
Funeral Mass for David will be Wednesday, December 2, at 10:30 am at St. Peter Catholic Church, 1891 Kaneville Road, Geneva with Father Jonathan Bakkelund celebrant. There are currently no occupancy restrictions at church.
Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Geneva, Illinois
