Daniel W. "Danny" Byrne

Daniel W. “Danny” Byrne, age 62, of Geneva, passed away Sunday, March 29, 2026 at Delnor Hospital with his loving family by his side.

He was born November 23, 1963, in Sydney Australia, the son of Robert and Joan (Mitchell) Byrne.

Danny was a one-of-a-kind man, a loving friend, father, and partner. He worked very hard to provide for his family who he loved dearly. His long career in finance took him across the globe working for packaging companies such as SouthCorp, Nampac, B-Way, and finally Mauser. He was immensely proud of his work in implementing SAP programs in plants across the USA.

Danny was also a lover of music who could be found strumming his guitar and singing at many outings. He had a love for hosting parties and had the innate gift of getting everyone in a room to sing along to old songs.

Danny was an accomplished sportsman. He was the Arncliffe Boys Club Cricketer of the Year on multiple occasions, and completed a multitude of marathons and triathlons during his lifetime.

His social network was vast. You could find him taking dance lessons with his girlfriend Jodi, golfing on a sunny day at Eaglebrook with his best mates, or volunteering at Fox Valley Food for Health. On a perfect summer evening, he’d love to grill something for his friends and family.

He is survived by his son Alexander (Ryan) of Glen Ellyn; mother Joan of Rockdale; girlfriend Jodi Damico of Geneva; his friends Warren and Sandra Case in Australia; his friend Bob Modene of Geneva; and so many other dear relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Robert and his wife Jeanette who passed away in 2019.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026 from 2pm-4pm at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva.

A memorial service for Danny will be held Saturday, April 11 at 5pm at Eagle Brook Country Club, 2288 Fargo Boulevard, Geneva. A reception will follow.
