Daniel K. McMahon

Daniel McMahon, age 57, of Batavia, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2026 at his home with his loving family by his side.

He was born November 26, 1968, in Geneva, the son of Robert and Carol (Narva) McMahon.

Daniel graduated from St. Charles High School in 1987.  Earned his degree from Iowa State University in the field of horticulture.

He was employed by Ball Seed Company for over twenty years and for the last seven years by Signify/Philips.

Many of these years he had his own greenhouse known as Stonethrowers.  His customers returned every spring.  He had a large and loyal following.  He was always available and willing to spend time with each one and help them choose plants and answer all questions. 

Dan enjoyed running and was an active member of Fox River Trail Runners.  He ran numerous marathons and participated in and completed the Iron Man Madison WI 2012. 

Daniel was a wonderful son, brother, uncle and friend.  He was a very caring person and  made everyone feel welcome and valued.

He is survived by his mother Carol of Elburn; sister Marcia (Matthew) Sullivan of Westchester, nieces Brianna and Kylie Sullivan; and many other dear relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Robert.

A visitation for Daniel will be held Sunday, March 29, 2026 from 1:00 pm until the time of his memorial service at 3:00 pm at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva.

Burial will be held privately.
