Daniel E. Kintner

Daniel “Dan” E. Kintner age 91 of Batavia passed away Friday September 15, 2023 at Delnor Hospital in Geneva, Illinois.  He was born October 15, 1931 in East St. Louis, Illinois, the son of Milton and Mary Olive (Douard) Kintner.

Dan proudly served his country in the United States Navy.  He performed active duty from July 1952 to June 1956 and served in the United States Navy Reserves from June 1956 to July 1960.  During his time in the Navy Reserves, he attended the University of Illinois in Champaign, Illinois, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Accountancy. 

Dan worked as an auditor for the United States General Accounting Office.  His great attention to detail enabled him to successfully investigate expenditures related to numerous government projects.

He is survived by his children Nannette (Kintner) Howard of Georgia, Laurie (Keith) Kornafel of Schaumburg, Illinois, and Mark (Michelle) of Naperville, Illinois; grandchildren Mitchel and Meghan Kintner and Madison Kornafel; siblings Dale Kintner, Ella Nora (Willard) Fruits and James Kintner.

Dan was preceded in death by Sandra (Sidener) Kintner, his wife of over 60 years,  his parents and his siblings – Carlos Kintner, Lester Kintner, Vera (Kintner) Ridgeway, and Paul Kintner.

Visitation will be held on Thursday October 12, 2023 from 9:00 AM  until the time of Funeral Service at 11:00 AM  at the Malone Funeral Home 324 E. State St. (Rt. 38) in Geneva, Illinois.

Burial with full Military Honors will be performed at 2:00 PM at River Hills Memorial Park Cemetery, 1650 S River St in Batavia, Illinois 60542.
