Daniel A. Martinek

Daniel A. Martinek, age 61, of Oak Lawn, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2023.

He was born July 23, 1961, in Joliet, Illinois, the son of James and Marion (Endecavageh) Martinek. He lived in Lockport, Illinois with his parents, siblings and numerous pets until the age of 15. He spent many boyhood summer days in the local woods hunting with his father.

Daniel enjoyed fishing, especially on Red Lake, Ontario with his brother, nephew and friends. He was a Journeyman Electrician Union IBEW, Local 134 and worked on the construction of the new United Center Home of the Chicago Bulls and Chicago Blackhawks. Dan had an aptitude to fix most mechanical and electrical problems working in machine and industrial maintenance. He helped his siblings and friends with many major home projects. Dan graduated from Oak Law Community Highschool and Coyne College, Commercial Refrigeration Program.

He is survived by his brother Terry (Peggy) of Batavia; his nieces Wendy DiDomenic, Jessica Olivito, Kate Vestuto, April Reichert, and Ali Martinek; his nephews Adam Martinek and Tim Martinek; and many other dear family and friends.

He was proceeded in death by his parents and siblings Madeline Martinek-Williams and Matthew Martinek.

Services for Daniel will be held privately.
