Czeslawa “Chessie” Lewkowski, age 77, of Surprise, Arizona, formerly of Addison and Chicago, passed away unexpectedly Monday, February 24, 2020, at Banner Del E. Webb Medical Center in Sun City West, Arizona.
She was born September 17, 1942 in Poland, the daughter of Stanislaw and Bronislawa (Okulczyk) Lajewski.
Chessie enjoyed bike riding, reading, and gardening. She was a wonderful cook and a very humble person who loved to nurture people as often as possible. She loved her family dearly and will be missed.
She is survived by her children Ann (Vito) Pietrarosso of Chicago and Dorothy (Chad) Rutledge of Geneva, grandchildren Evan, Natalie, and Colleen; sisters Marianna Wrobel and Stanislawa Cimoch both of Poland; and many other dear relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Henry, and loving husband Chester who passed away in 2004.
A visitation for Chessie will be held Saturday, March 14, 2020 from 9:00 am until the time of funeral prayers at 10:15 am at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva proceeding to St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 2900 E. Main Street, St. Charles for Celebration of Funeral Mass at 11:00 am with Father Jonathan Bakkelund celebrant.
Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Geneva.
In lieu of flowers, masses in Chessie’s name would be appreciated.
