Clara Ruth “Ruthie” Landoll, age 90, of St. Charles, passed away Monday, June 2, 2025, at Michaelsen’s Healthcare Center in Batavia with her loving family by her side.
Ruthie was born June 14, 1934, in Lawton, Oklahoma, the daughter of Mark and Josephine (Pfaff) Landoll.
She grew up in Lawton where she attended school, graduating from St. Mary's Catholic School in 1952. She entered the order of the Sisters of St. Francis in 1954, finished her nursing training, and worked in St. Elizabeth Hospital of Hannibal Missouri until 1970. She moved to the Chicago area and worked in Cook County Hospital in Chicago, and then St. James Hospital in Chicago Heights. She returned to Oklahoma to work at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma city, and to assist her aging mother and Aunt Flora until their deaths. Upon retirement She returned to the Chicago area. Ruthie was a member of the St. Peter Catholic Church in Geneva, Illinois.
She is survived by her siblings Flora Kaindl, George Landoll, Mary Jo (Chuck) McDonald, Loretta (Bill) Schraufnager, and Margaret (John) Grogan; sister-in-laws Verna Landoll and Kathy Landoll; and many dear nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Theresa (Jack) Luckowski, Rose Ann (Bill) Foster, Marcella Pastor, Mark Landoll, Loenard (Helen) Landoll, and James Landoll.
A visitation will be held Friday June 6, 2025 from 2:30 pm until the time of her memorial service at 3:30 pm at St. Peter Catholic Church, 1891 Kaneville Road, Geneva with Father John McFadden celebrant.
Burial will be held privately at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Peter Catholic Church would be appreciated.
