Chrisy Maryann Koch "Sonner"

Chrisy Maryann Koch "Sonner", age 44, of Elgin, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at her home in Elgin surrounded by her loving family.

She was born February 23, 1978, in North Charleston, South Carolina, the daughter of Kerry W. Koch and Carrie Kay (Steiger) Johnson.

Chrisy worked at the State Bank of Geneva for 20 years. She made many friends with co-workers and clients some that would only speak to her. She was very passionate about cooking. She loved cooking for her family and friends.

 Chrisy loved to plan potlucks for her co-workers from spring potlucks, just because potlucks, chili potlucks, Christmas potlucks. She also started “Friendsgiving.”

Chrisy was also the go to for football squares. Not only for her co-workers but for her friends and their co-workers. She loved her dogs Jaxxa and Zoey.

She is survived by her parents Carrie (Steve) Johnson and Kerry (Mary-Lou) Koch; siblings Charlene (Kaufmann), Cathleen, Kerry Jr., Taylor- Rae; and many other dear relatives and friends. 

Visitation will be held Monday, February 6, 2023 at Malone Funeral Home at 4:00 pm up until the Memorial service at 7:30 pm.
