Charles “Chuck” Anderson, age 90, of Geneva, Illinois passed away on April14th, 2021 at his home.

Chuck was born in Gosport, Indiana on December 6th, 1930 to parents Basil and Mary (nee Wright) Anderson. He enlisted in the United States Air Force after graduating from high school and served as a Buck Sergeant working in the 544th Reconnaissance Technical Squadron during the Korean War at Offutt Air Force Base in Omaha, Nebraska. He married Alice Jeanne (nee Gregg) Anderson on April 4th, 1953.  He worked at Lawrence Radiation Laboratory in Berkeley, California before transferring to Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory in 1968. At his time of retirement from FermiLab in 1991, he was serving as Deputy Head of Site Services.  After retirement, he became a devoted grandfather, made beautiful hardwood furniture, and enjoyed a small remodeling business with his daughter. Chuck had a sweet tooth, and his favorite treat was homemade oatmeal raisin cookies. His grandchildren were the light of his life. He was so very proud of all their activities and accomplishments.

Chuck is survived by his son Steven (Cathy) Anderson of St. Louis, Missouri; daughter Deborah (Steve) Hensley of Geneva, Illinois; grandchildren Keane Charles Hensley of Batavia, Alyssa Jeanne Hensley of Geneva, Aydan Jessie Hensley of Geneva, and Quinn Steven Hensley of Geneva; his faithful dachshund companion Frankie; many brothers and sisters in laws; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Alice.

A celebration of Chuck’s life will be held at a later date with family and close friends.
