Carol L. (Vaughn) Fickers

Carol L. Fickers, age 80, of St. Charles, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at Delnor Hospital in Geneva with her loving family by her side.

She was born March 11, 1943, in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of Edmund and Laverne Vaughn.

Carol loved to read and cook.  She enjoyed working in the bakery department at Blue Goose and going to the Civic Opera House every year.  Her favorite pastime however was spending time with her family and friends, she will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her daughters Jennifer Fickers of St. Charles, Denise Salazar of DeKalb, and Tracey Tobolski of S. Elgin; grandchildren Jeremiah Salazar, Jessica Tobolski, Alex Salazar, Nathan Braun, Samuel Salazar, Benjamin Hungerford, Matthew and Sarah Braun, and Amanda Battle; great grandchildren Max Salazar, Alastor Edward Orteza, and Blu Battle; and many other dear relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by daughter Julie Ann Hungerford; sister Mary Lou Lemanna; brothers-in-law Paul Fickers and Virgil Sammarco; sisters-in-law Carol Sammarco, Mary Fickers, Patty Fickers, and Jeannette Fickers; Aunt Sister Bernadine; and the father of her children Edward Fickers.

A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, April 8, 2023 from 1:00 pm until the time of her memorial service at 3:00 pm at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva with Father John McFadden officiating.

Burial will be held privately.
