Carol A. Trocchio Obituary

Carol A. Trocchio, age 72, of Sugar Grove, passed away Thursday, September 24, 2020 at Bethany Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in DeKalb.

She was born December 24, 1947 in Chicago, the daughter of Angelo and Rita (Spagnolo) Trocchio.

Carol was born and raised in Chicago and the Chicago suburbs her entire life. She had always thought that she wanted to be a Nun, and even became a Postulant, but she decided to pursue her career in nursing. She was educated at St. Mary’s Nursing School and worked as a nurse where she lovingly cared for her patients and formed lasting friendships. Before retirement, Carol worked as an Insurance Underwriter at Banker’s Life in Chicago where she also formed lifelong lasting friends.

In Nursing School, Carol met her lifelong Best Friend Debbie, they understood each other, and they were always there for each other no matter what life had in store for them. Debbie was not only her best friend but kept Carol comfortable during the last few months of her life. We will always cherish Debbie and the friendship they had; she will always be a part of our family.

Carol loved to cook, and you knew when she cooked, the food she created would always be from her heart. She loved to travel with her friends and family whenever she could. She loved her family dearly and was close to her parents, Rita and Angelo, and cared for her Father when he became ill. She never truly got over their passing, but we know she is with them now and they have welcomed her back into their arms.

Carol treasured her family and friends and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as an Aunt. She had a sparkling and fierce personality and you never had to guess what she was thinking. She will be dearly missed, and we are glad she is at peace.

She is survived by her siblings Angela (Lee) Krett of Sycamore IL, Robert (Darlene) of Schaumburg, IL, and Ralph (Wendy) of Cottage Grove, WI; many nieces and nephews; her long-time best friend Debbie Klinker of 50 years as well as other dear relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
