Carol H. Tate, age 83, of Batavia, formerly of Cicero and Villa Park, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Delnor Hospital in Geneva with her family at her side.
She was born December 22, 1936, in Chicago, the daughter of Wilbur & Doris (Whitehurst) Hildebrandt.
Carol loved puzzles, reading, iPad games, birdwatching, her tomatoes, and pizzas. However, her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family and friends. She will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her children Vicky (Ivan) Purnell of Wisconsin, Cindy (John) Emerson of Batavia, Tom Tate of Lemont, and Brenda (Allen) Thrift of Florida; grandchildren Tiffany and Robert Pellegrino, Jimmy Briggs, Taryn Tate, Emily Emerson, Tommy Tate, and Tyler Edwards; great grandchildren Samuel Jorudd, Gianna, Levi, Olivia, Noel, and Roman Pellegrino, Hailee Briggs, and Lola and Evelyn Phetteplace; brother Ronald (Betty) Hildebrandt of Colorado; and many other dear relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Jeanette Hildebrandt, and husband Thomas who passed away on August 10, 1971.
A visitation will be held Sunday, December 20, 2020 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva. Due to the current health care restrictions, standards of occupancy will be upheld. To attend please be prepared to wear a mask and/or wait if occupancy standards need to be met before entering. We kindly ask that you immediately exit the funeral home after briefly paying your respects to the family so that others may have the same opportunity.
Funeral service for Carol will be held Monday, December 21 at 11:00 am at Malone Funeral Home with Father Jonathan Bakkelund officiating.
Interment will follow at Mount Auburn Memorial Park in Stickney, Illinois.
