Carmela J. Schiavone

Carmela Scialo Schiavone, age 102, of Chicago passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at Brighton Gardens in St Charles with her loving family by her side.

She was born January 6, 1924 in Chicago, the daughter of Michael and Raffaella (Russo) Scialo.

Before moving to Brighton Gardens, Carmela lived in Chicago’s Little Italy. She was active in her community and was a lifelong parishioner at Notre Dame – Our Lady of the Holy Family Catholic Church.

Carmela was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Carmen; her daughter, Susan; as well as her siblings, Nancy Arrichiello, Dominic, Anthony, Pamela Bliss, Michael and Patrick. She is survived by her loving sister-in-law, Anna Marie Scialo, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral mass for Carmela will be held Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at 11 am at St. Peter Catholic Church, 1891 Kaneville Road, Geneva. Burial will be held privately.
