Betty Olechowski, age 80, of Geneva, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at at her home.
She was born on February 14, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois to Carmelo and Donna (Costello) Fugazzotto. Betty settled and spent the majority of her life in the tri-cities area.
Betty loved opera, the theatre, knitting, choir, travel, art, and dancing. She was a voracious reader but also loved a good TV show such as The Rockford Files, Murder She Wrote and Magnum PI (and only the episodes of Friends that featured Tom Selleck). She was a devoted grandmother and loved attending her grandchildren’s many activities. She also special connection with her two granddogs, Floyd and Monty.
She is survived by children Stephen III (Liza) of Glen Ellyn and Chris (Colleen) of Geneva; her grandchildren Brandon, Alex, Harrison, Helen and Maeve; and many other dear relatives and friends.
Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband Stephen Jr. and her six siblings.
Visitation will be held Saturday, September 30, 2023 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Fox Valley Presbyterian Church, 227 E. Side Drive, Geneva, Illinois 60134 with a funeral service at 11:00 am.
Burial will follow at North Cemetery, 1205 N. 5th Avenue, St. Charles, Illinois 60174.
