Barbara J. (Strobel) Cramer

Barbara J. (Strobel) Cramer, age 64, of Aurora, passed away Sunday, July 20, 2025, at her home in Aurora.

She was born on August 19, 1960, in Geneva at the old Community Hospital, the daughter of William and Norma (Benson) Strobel.

As a young child she truly enjoyed roller skating, bike riding, swimming and growing up in a small town.

Barb graduated in 1978 from Geneva Community High School. This was where her love of music was shown, as she sang for the choir all four years. She also played the piano and organ. She loved going to concerts, plays and the theater. She worked as a receptionist at Houghton Mifflin in Geneva for 32 years.

Barb married James Cramer on September 11, 1999, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Geneva.

She enjoyed a bowling league during her time at Houghton.  She loved card and dice games. Some other pastimes were word searches and cats. An avid Bulls fan, she so enjoyed watching the NBA games on TV.  Fond memories of travels to Door County and Branson, Missouri.

She is survived by her husband James; siblings David, Michael, and Ann all of Geneva; and a host of loving cousins and friends.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents.

A visitation for Barbara will be held Sunday, August 3, 2025 from 2:00 pm until the time of her memorial service at 5:00 pm at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva.
