Anthony Bertino Obituary

Anthony Bertino, age 89, of Darien, passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2020, at The Grove of Fox Valley Nursing Home in Aurora. 

He was born September 7, 1930, in Chicago, the son of Anton and Sylvia (Novak) Bertino.

Anthony served his country stateside in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.  He retired from Amoco Research Center as a Research Technician.  He enjoyed fishing, gardening and reading.  He was an avid sports fan and especially loved watching the Cubs and Blackhawks.  Anthony’s favorite pastime, however, was spending time with his family and he will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his daughters Patricia (John) Diebold of Geneva and Donna (Roger) Darby of Geneva; grandchildren Ryan Darby, Jaclyn King, and Lauren (Andrew) Petrovich; great grandchildren Cooper, Quintin, and Amelia King; and many other dear relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his devoted wife Doris who passed away in 1991.

Services for Anthony will be held privately at Assumption Catholic Cemetery in Wheaton. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society, 1801 Meyers Road #100, Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois 60181 would be appreciated.
