Anna Rerucha

Anna M. Rerucha, age 97, of St. Charles, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2023 at Tabor Hills in Naperville, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born May 8, 1925, in Chicago, the daughter of Joseph and Katherine (Benko) Kucko.

She lived in Pensacola, Florida while her husband Ben was in the Navy, but she lived most of her life in Brookfield, Illinois where she was a member of the St. Barbara Church Choir.  Anna loved to bake especially Christmas cookies. Her hobby was crocheting hand towels that she would give as Christmas or birthday presents; she also collected figurines of angel. She enjoyed watching Catholic Mass on television daily and if she fell asleep during it she would repeat watching it in the evening.

She is survived by her three children Patricia (Paul) Schuch of Geneva, Mary Therese (Rich) Chamberlin of Naperville, and Daniel (Marchia) of Plainfield; grandchildren Christopher Rerucha, Kerry Andrews, and Matthew Schuch; great grandchildren Morgan and Logan Andrews, Geena Rerucha, and Lillian and Joseph Schuch; brother Steven (Marion) Kucko; and many other dear relatives and friends. 

Anna was preceded in death by her parents, sister Lillian Scanlan, son Joseph, and her husband Benjamin.

Funeral Prayers will be held Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at 9:00 am at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva proceeding to St Patrick Catholic Church, 6N491 Crane Road, St. Charles for Celebration of Funeral Mass at 10:00 am with Father Arnold Relles celebrant.

Burial will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 18 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Malone Funeral Home with a liturgical wake service at 7:45 pm.
