Angela Cygan

Angela Gemma Cygan (nee Cregier), age 87, of Geneva, Illinois passed away peacefully October 11, 2022 at Greenfields of Geneva. 

Angela was the beloved wife of the late John T. Cygan.  She was also loving mother to John Joseph (Sarah) Cygan and stepmother to Claudia (Spencer) Esping, Marla (Mark) Hoffmeyer, and Gregg (Karen) Cygan.  She was grandmother to 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren (soon to be 10).

She is preceded in death by her parents Frederick and Julia Cregier (nee Marcheschi), brothers Frederick and Robert Cregier, and sister Gloria Emma. 

Angie was stylish, warm, loving, and always there to help anyone.  Her energy and vibrance were infectious.  She enjoyed singing in the church choir both at St. Peter’s and at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Orland Park.   She was very creative; enjoyed painting, playing the organ, knitting, and sewing. Angie was a Cubs fan and also loved movie musicals. 

Visitation will be held Thursday, October 13, 2022 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva. 

Funeral prayers will be held Friday, October 14 at 9:30 am at Malone Funeral Home proceeding to St. Peters Catholic Church, 1891 Kaneville Road, Geneva for Celebration of Funeral Mass at 10:30 am. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O4eSoHN73kE

Interment will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association, St. Peter’s Church, or a charity of your choice.
