Alice Helen (née Sobotka) Novak, age 95, passed away Saturday, May 10th, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.
Alice was born in Cicero, IL on September 6th, 1929 to the parents of John & Barbora (Betty) Sobotka. She came into this life alongside her identical twin sister Esther (Essie, 2020) whom she was close with, until her passing day. Their mother Betty had them at 49 years old and lived until 106 years old. Statistics like that were quite rare for the times. Alice was proud of her roots & family story, she often shared it with strangers passing by.
Alice was a longtime resident of Geneva, IL since 1960. She was married to her beloved late husband Michael Novak (December 25, 2023) for, 72 years. They were married in the autumn of 1951, and welcomed three children, three grandchildren & four great-grandchildren in the decades that followed their love story. Alice had such a unique spice for life! Her charisma was enchanting & delectable to be around. She picked up the act of dancing later in life in her 70s and entertained her family with musical skits on Christmas Eve alongside Mike for over 15 years. She has left her family with wonderful memories that will last a lifetime & beyond.
Alice is survived by her daughter, Michele (Bob) Kochlefl of Grand Haven, MI, son Mitchell (Ginny) Novak of St.Charles, IL, daughter Kim Hagman-Novak of Geneva, IL.
Grandchildren; Jamie (Matt) Riley, Belmont, MI. Scott (Tyler) Kochlefl, Cresco, PA. Jillian (Alex) Serrato, Geneva, IL.
Great grandchildren; Reid & Jake Riley. Vance & Pierce Serrato.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Novak. Her parents John (Betty) Sobotka, and her six siblings.
