Theodore M. "Ted" Pawela

Theodore M. “Ted” Pawela, age 82, of Geneva, passed away Monday July 31, 2017 at Delnor Hospital in Geneva.

He was born April 17, 1935 in Chicago, Illinois the son of Louis and Pearl (Stanislawski) Pawela.

Ted worked many years at Johnson’s Control in Geneva and also proudly served his country in the Navy aboard the USS St. Paul #73.  He was an avid sports fan especially the Bears and Cubs; he also loved gardening and taking care of his yard.  Ted was a devoted husband and father and he will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his two sons Thomas of Geneva and Joe (Arleen) of Lake Charles, Louisiana; granddaughter Ashley; siblings Chester, Dorothy Hardy, Louis (Elsa), Rose Miszowek, Margaret Ladove, William (Bernadette), and Jim (Diane).

He was preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife Ann Marie (Carroll) who passed away in 2012.

Funeral prayers will be held Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 9:30 am at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva proceeding to St. Peter Catholic Church, 1891 Kaneville Road, Geneva for Celebration of Funeral Mass at 10:30 am with Father Jonathan Bakkelund, celebrant.

Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Geneva.

Visitation will be held Friday, August 4 from 4:00 - 8:00 pm at Malone Funeral Home, Geneva with a liturgical service at 7:45 pm.
