Ronald J. Basar

Ronald J. Basar, age 75, of St. Charles, passed away Sunday, February 4, 2018 at Autumn Leaves of St. Charles with his loving family by his side.

He was born February 1, 1943 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of John and Rose Marie (Vukich) Basar.

Ron graduated from Geneva High School in 1961 and proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era.  He was a design engineer and worked for many years at Alumax.  Ron was an active member of Christ Community Church and he enjoyed gardening, traveling, and fishing.  His favorite pastime however was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and he will be dearly missed.

Ron is survived by his devoted wife of 46 years Judy (Rayle); sons Marty (Mandona) Kloac of Austin, Texas, Ben (Tara) of Geneva, and Josh (Natalie) of St. Charles; grandchildren Alexa, Ariana, and Jaxson Kloac, Alyssa Taylor, and Isabella, Brianna, and Jackson Basar; nieces and nephews James and Dillion Rayle and Sherry Salnick; great nieces Skylar Maggio and Chase Salnick; sisters Deb (Tony) Lazetti of Washington and Suellen (John) Scott of Oregon; and many other dear relatives and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter Annika Basar.

Services for Ron will be held privately.
