Robert Patrick Shine, age 58, of Geneva, passed away Sunday, September 1, 2019 at his residence.
He was born February 16, 1961 in Chicago, the son of Gerald and Eleanor (Horecny) Shine.
Robert was an avid fly fisherman, coached football for the Tri-cities, and was a scout master. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Peter Catholic Church. Robert was a loving family man and will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his children Megan Shine of Iowa, Matthew Shine of West Chicago, and Connor Shine of Iowa; parents Gerald & Eleanor Shine of Chicago Heights; the mother of his children Janet Shine; siblings Patricia (John) Hayes of Geneva and Thomas (Sherry) Shine of Chicago Heights; and many other dear relatives and friends.
Celebration of Funeral Mass for Robert will be held Friday, September 6, 2019 at 12:00 pm at St. Peter Catholic Church, 1891 Kaneville Road, Geneva with Father Paul Weberg celebrant.
Interment will be held privately.
Visitation will be held Thursday, September 5, 2019 from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva with a liturgical wake service at 8:45 pm with Deacon Greg D’Anna officiating.
