Robert K. “Bobby” Byker, age 26, of Geneva, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at home.
He was born May 28, 1993, in Geneva, the son of Kenneth and Cynthia (Gibbons) Byker.
Bobby graduated from Geneva High School in 2012 participating in football and wrestling. He attended Aurora University where he studied psychology. He was an avid fisherman and loved to cook. Some of his favorite times were spent at the family cottage in Michigan. He loved to play football and baseball. Bobby was a fan of the Chicago Cubs and the University of Michigan. Anyone who knew him would tell you he was always a selfless person, concerned with others more than himself. He was a loving son, brother, nephew, cousin and friend who will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his parents Kenneth “Ken” and Cynthia “Cindy” of Geneva; siblings Mary (Fiance Andrew Blatz), Bridget, Grace, and Daniel; grandmothers Geraldine Gibbons of Geneva and Margaret Byker of Grand Rapids, MI; aunts and uncles Denise Gibbons of Geneva, Karen and Tim Folkertsma of Grand Rapids, MI, Donald and Donna Byker of New Era, MI, Yvonne and William Cooper of Grand Rapids, MI, Jayne and Scott Borst of Marietta, GA and many cousins whom he loved dearly.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Robert Gibbons and paternal grandfather Eugene Byker.
Funeral prayers for Bobby will be held Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at 9:30 am at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva proceeding to St. Peter Catholic Church, 1891 Kaneville Street, Geneva for Celebration of Funeral Mass at 10:30 am with Father Charles Warren Celebrant.
Burial will follow at Assumption Cemetery in Wheaton, Illinois.
A visitation will be held Monday, June 24, 2019 from 3:00 – 8:00 pm at the Malone Funeral Home with a Rosary recited at 7:45 pm with Deacon Greg D’Anna officiating.
