Retta (Roman) Glod

Retta Glod, age 76, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at Bickford Place, St. Charles.

She was born March 5, 1941, in Chicago, the daughter of Bernard and Loretta Roman.

Retta was an accomplished artist painting everything from landscapes to portraits and using a variety of media, but most appreciated acrylics. She was also a wonderful cook and enjoyed gathering her children and grandchildren for large family dinners. Retta enjoyed traveling, particularly to Florida. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her sons David (Maria) of Michigan, Daniel (Carrie) of Geneva and Gordon (Kate) also of Geneva; grandchildren Janelle, Ashton, Dryden, Jeremy, Benjamin, Tessa, Justin, Julianne and Payton; brothers Donald of Colorado, James (Patricia) of New York and William (Doris) of Florida; and many other dear relatives and friends.

Retta is preceded in death by her parents and loving husband of 40 years who passed away in 1999, James.

Funeral Mass will be held Friday, July 21, 2017 at 10:00 am at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 400 Cedar Street, St Charles, Father Robert Gonnella, celebrant.

Burial will be private at Assumption Cemetery, Wheaton.

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 20 from 4:00-8:00 pm at Malone Funeral Home.
