Raymond J. Wollenberg

Raymond J. “Ray” Wollenberg, age 79, of Elmhurst passed away October 26, 2019 with his loving family by his side at Pine Acres Living Center.

He was born June 30, 1940, in Oak Park, the son of Raymond and Josephine (Bergl) Wollenberg.

Ray worked as a civil engineer for the Village of Bensenville for 35 years.  He enjoyed working in the garage, reading, doing research and relaxing with his dogs.  His favorite pastime however was spending time with his family and he will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years Diane (Pierog); sons Paul (Cori) of St. Charles and Keith (Julie) of St. Charles; grandchildren Luke, Sophia, and Brandon; sister Grace (Patzelt) of River Forest; uncle to Ruth Soppet, Grace Pickett, Joyce Liggett, David Patzelt and Margaret Senese, and many other dear relatives and friends.

A visitation for Ray will be held Friday, November 1, 2019 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm with a funeral service at 4:30 pm with Chaplain - Lance Mennen officiating, and a celebratory light dinner starting at 5:00 pm at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38),Geneva.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago Foundation, 225 E. Chicago Avenue, Box 4, Chicago, Illinois 60611‐2991 would be appreciated.
