I was one of Mike's students in 1974-75 at Wisconsin when he was a teaching assistant in Chem Engineering. Mike was an ideal teacher - fair, friendly, not arrogant, yet with a complete mastery of the subject and ability to inspire students.
He could  make the most difficult topics seem easy and fun, and always did it with a twinkle in his eye - one of the great ones! Just wanted the family to know how memorable Mike was to his students, and express sympathy for your great loss.

Learning of Mike's death (from a UW chemistry alumni magazine) recalled for me the times Mike's travels brought him to Geneva, Switzerland, where I was stationed as an expat.  He taught me the virtues of moo goo gai pan and helped me connect with home.  Among our technical and recruiting interactions as colleagues at Union Carbide, I remember him especially for his kindness and good fellowship during those visits.

We all missed Mike this year at Air Venture!  We had the pleasure of volunteering with Mike for several years working along side the entire Ford Tri-Motor Gang!  We will always remember Mike's big smile and sweet personality!  We never expected that our time together last Oshkosh would be our last!  So thankful that we have a great picture with him as we enjoyed lunch together after our shift.  God Bless all of his family with love, peace and many fond memories!
Sincerely,
Bennie Crouse😊❤️

Mike was an old friend and long time colleague from the old days at Union Carbide Bound Brook Research and Development Laboratory.  We were members of the same Bridgewater carpool which began with 6 charta members before it dwindled to just Mike and I.  I have known him for almost 40 years.  We had shared uncounted number of lunches and numerous family dinners highlighted by pilgrimages to New York Chinatown.  He was always the big guy with a giant smile.  He will by sorely missed by his legion of friends and his loving family.

The Tri Motor crew was not the same this year at AirVenture without Mike. He was always like a big teddy bear, eager to help, always smiling and helping to bring joy to those with whom he volunteered, as well as the many passengers. We will miss him, for he was a part of our aviation "family," and while we may see each other only once per year, we look forward to reconnecting. Please know that his TriMotor family missed him very much.

Your family at Friendship Village wish to express our sympathy to you and your family on the loss of Michael. We are saddened by his passing. Knowing how much the staff enjoyed his smile, laughter, the way he cared for his mother Lilia and how he always remembered to bring the staff a treat whenever you were in the building!!!
He will be sadly missed by us all. He, as well as you,  know we will continue to take good care of Lilia.
