Mary R. (Lelinske) Lesniewski

Mary R. Lesniewski, age 84, of St. Charles, passed away Friday, February 2, 2018 at Edward’s Hospital in Naperville with her loving family at her side.

She was born March 26, 1933 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the daughter of Joseph and Irene (Jaworski) Lelinski.

Mary was a graduate of Cardinal Stritch College (currently, University) in 1955.  She interned at New York City Hospital in 1955-56.  She was a licensed and practicing dietitian until 2000.  Roland and Mary were married in 1958 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Milwaukee.

During her college days as well as the first several years of her professional career, she was a frequent guest on the TV show “What’s New in the Kitchen” with Breta Greim, WTMJ-TV in Milwaukee.  She later worked in several hospitals in Wisconsin and Illinois, including Elmhurst Memorial Hospital as Supervising Clinical Dietitian.  However, she always considered her work at Suburban Endocrinology in Arlington Heights as most rewarding in helping others improve their health. 

Mary and Roland raised their family in Milwaukee, German Town, and Brookfield, Wisconsin and Roselle, Illinois.

Mary is survived by her husband Roland of 60 years and their four children Peg (Carl) Malsack of Downers Grove, Bill (April) or Colorado Springs, CO, Peter (Thea) Lesnik of Elburn, and Paul (Kelli) Owen of New Berlin, WI.  Mary was blessed with nine wonderful grandchildren and three great grandchildren whom she loved dearly.  Also surviving Mary is her brother-in-law Ron Lester of Milwaukee, numerous cousins, and good friends. 

She was preceded in death by her mother Irene (Jaworski) Lelinski in 1999 and her father Joseph Lelinski in 1996.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial for Mary will be celebrated Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 10:00 am at St. Peter Catholic Church, 1891 Kaneville Road, Geneva with Father Jonathan Bakkelund celebrant, with visitation at 9:00 am until the time of the funeral mass.  

Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Geneva.
