Marjorie Rabbitt, age 92, of St. Charles, formerly of McHenry, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Alexian Brothers Hospice Residence in Elk Grove Village.

She was born December 28, 1925 in Quincy, Illinois the daughter of Albert and Edith Sorrill.

Marjorie graduated from Western Illinois University.  After graduation, she continued her education and received a master’s degree from NIU.  She was a 3rd grade teacher for over 30 years in McHenry.  Marjorie was an avid member of Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority.  She had a passion for traveling and gardening.  Marjorie was known for being a fabulous baker and lover of history.  Most importantly, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandkids.      

She is survived by her children Martha (Douglas) Eyles of Geneva and Michael (Kristine) of Rockton; grandchildren Emily (Brad) Holehan, Rebecca (Dane) Lockhart, Claire Scatterday, and Brendan Rabbitt; great grandson Zeke Lockhart, and great granddaughter baby Hannah Holehan; her sister Phyllis Farlow; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Dorothy Rowe and Ruth Koester, brothers Rich and Donald Sorrill; and her husband Richard of 69 years who died on December 17th, 2017.

Visitation for both Marjorie and Richard will be held Friday, March 30, 2018 from 9:00 am until the time of their memorial service at 10:00 am at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 400 Cedar Street, St. Charles with Rev. Msgr. Steve Knox celebrant. 

Burial will be held privately at Resurrection Cemetery in Geneva.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Patrick Catholic Church, 400 Cedar Street, St. Charles, Illinois 60174would be appreciated.
