Marie E. (Gummel) Yerges

Marie E. Yerges, age 84, of Batavia passed Sunday, September 17, 2017 at Delnor Hospital in Geneva with her loving family at her side.

She was born September 24, 1932, in Mount Carmel, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Joseph and Edna (Andruskiewicz) Gummel.

Marie enjoyed bowling, playing bridge, skiing, fishing, and volunteering at Delnor Hospital.  However, she was most happy when spending time with her family and she will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 62 years James; children Paul (Carolyn) of St. Charles, Daniel (Delyn) of Austin, Texas, Carol (Carter) Scofield of Geneva, and Glenn (Shawn) of Cambridge, Minnesota; grandchildren Scott (Marla) of O’Fallon, Illinois, Meagen (Ken) Miller of St. Charles, Danny and Rachel Yerges both of Texas, Nickolas (Jordan) Scofield of Aurora, Tyler Scofield of Denver, Colorado, Samantha Scofield of Greensboro, North Carolina,  and Kyle, Jillian, and Sandy Yerges of Minnesota; great grandchildren Jacob and Lynn; and many other dear relatives and friends.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents and brother Joseph Gummel.

Services and interment will be held privately
